Our Mission and Theology

Reformation Bible Church exists to glorify God by enjoying him forever. Our desire is to see the kingdom of God advanced, lives transformed by the power of the gospel of Christ, and the household of faith built up as we walk together in truth, holiness, and love.
Our convictions are rooted in the historic Reformed faith, flowing from Scripture alone as our ultimate authority. We hold to the great truths of the Reformation: Scripture alone declares that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, to the glory of God alone. Our teaching and worship seek to reflect the majesty of God and the sufficiency of His Word.

As a Church, we have adopted the four major historic dogmatic creeds of the Christian Church as faithful summaries of the Christian faith that all believers must affirm: The Apostles’ Creed, the Nicene Creed, the Athanasian Creed, and the Chalcedonian Definition.
While we have not yet formally adopted any doctrinal confessions, we believe that the Belgic Confession, Westminster Confession, Canons of Dort, Westminster Catechisms, and Heidelberg Catechism provide a thoroughly adequate representation of biblical doctrine, and we use them regularly within our church life.

Our Story
In March 2025, a group of us began meeting weekly for prayer to seek the Lord’s guidance. As God’s providence unfolded over the months, it seemed that the Lord might be leading us to start a new church.
After seeking God’s will, we determined to begin meeting together corporately as a family to worship the Lord. We met together for the first time for corporate worship on the first Sunday of August 2025. We asked Reverend Logan Hagoort to provide us with counsel and pulpit cover as we sought to establish ourselves as a Church, if it was pleasing in the Lord’s sight.
Over the following weeks, we grew in unity and purpose, and on the 5th of October, we formally covenanted together and established ourselves under the name Reformation Bible Church. During this service we elected, ordained, and installed our first Elder (Matthew McGimpsey) and Deacon (Rob Darby). We also proceeded to elect and call Rev. Hagoort to be our full-time minister.
Recognizing the importance of mutual encouragement and accountability in the work of the Lord, Rev. Hagoort began conversations with other independent churches in at attempt to find likeminded believers to labour with. As a result of this, four churches (Reformation Bible Church, Dargaville Gospel Church, Redeemer Church Fielding, Grace and Peace Fellowship Bible Church) would begin encouraging one another as co-labourers in the gospel.
RBC and GPFBC went on to enter into a formal covenant partnership together on the 12th of October 2025, committing to support one another in gospel ministry and the faithful proclamation of God’s Word.

Our Practice
We believe theology must be lived. Our worship is reverent and Word-centred, our preaching passionate and Christ-focused, and our fellowship marked by genuine care and love. We seek to grow as disciples who love God, serve one another, and proclaim the gospel to the world. We do this primarily by gathering for worship each Lord’s day (Sunday 10am and 5pm) twice and meeting for our midweek prayer meeting every Wednesday (7:30pm), alongside other fellowship and ministry events.
Reformation Bible Church affirms that Christ, the head of the Church, provides the church with elders and deacons to oversee the Church. The elders are called to oversee the ministry of the Word- publicly and privately, while the deacons are called to oversee the offerings and resources of the church. We are grateful that the Lord has provided us with suitably gifted and called men to serve in our midst.
