A Door Open in Heaven
As we enter into the more dramatic apocalyptic section of the book of Revelation, it is important to understand how to read the book. In today’s sermon we are doing an introductory sermon to lead us into the benefits of reading and studying Revelation.

The Devil’s Design of Destruction
Opposition is never passive. In Nehemiah 4:7-15, enemies plot to halt God’s work, sowing fear and intimidation. Yet strategy, prayer, and united diligence transform threat into triumph. God equips His people to stand firm, reinforcing His work against every attempt at destruction, showing that persistence under God’s hand prevails.

Christ’s Love for the Lukewarm
Christ stands at the door of every lukewarm heart, offering correction and love. Revelation 3:14-22 warns that indifference risks exclusion, yet His call is tender and patient. God’s people are invited to repentance, renewed zeal, and fellowship with Him—turning complacency into wholehearted devotion that reflects His sustaining and purifying love.

The Devilish Design of Derision
Mockery is never accidental; it is a calculated weapon against the work of God. In Nehemiah 4, derision aims to weaken resolve and halt obedience. Yet prayer, perseverance, and quiet faithfulness expose ridicule for what it is and press the work forward under God’s sovereign hand, until the wall rises despite the laughter of enemies.

Weak Beloved Philadelphia
Christ commends a church with little strength yet great faithfulness. To Philadelphia he sets an open door no enemy can shut, promises vindication, protection, and a permanent place in God’s temple. Weakness, when joined to obedience, becomes the sphere of Christ’s conquering power for the persevering saints who hold fast.
